Meet The Team

Carol Dickinson Carol Dickinson, LPC

Offering In-Person and Online Therapy

Special Training: EMDR, CPT, DBT, CCTP

I believe that recovery from trauma and loss is a combination of evidence-based treatments and the strengths and resiliency of each person that is already there. Sometimes we need a nudge in the right direction. When not working, you can find me in yoga class, walking, or watching the latest Marvel movie.

“I already believe in you and know that you can do this no matter what the challenge is.”

What constitutes a traumatic event is a very personal experience. Often it isn’t until you are in therapy that you discover the full implications and impact on the quality of your life. The footprint of trauma can show itself as difficulty at work, unhealthy relationship patterns, anxiety, depression, or a lack of sleep. It can also be the total and complete interruption of your life. What you may think is anxiety or depression could be early trauma or developmental trauma. It can also be complex trauma created after multiple events and experiences. It is never what's wrong with you but what's happened to you!

Within the power of EMDR therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy is the foundational understanding that healing and freedom from trauma and the past are possible. We may also use Dialectical Behavior Therapy and other interventions for PTSD, OCD, addiction, anxiety, personality disorders, bipolar disorders, grief, self-harm, and dissociation.

Sometimes life can be hard and feel very confusing. Having a trusted partner on the road to healing is invaluable. The direction counseling takes should always be doing what works based on your goals.

Lao Tzu said, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Tzu didn’t say you were meant to make the journey alone. Let's begin.

Offering In-Person and Online Therapy

Special Training:  EMDR, CBT, Trauma-Informed

Janell Wolter, LMSW, is a Licensed Master Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals, children, families, and communities. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University, specializing in Direct Clinical Practice, and has combined strong academic preparation with years of hands-on service to build a trusted career in the field. Janell is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has extensive experience helping clients navigate attachment needs, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, grief, and major life transitions. She also has the privilege of working with Veterans and first responders, supporting them in processing trauma, managing stress, and building resilience in the face of unique challenges. Her counseling approach is holistic and systems-oriented: she considers not only each person's inner experience but also the relationships, environments, and histories that shape them. Janell works to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their emotions while also learning practical coping skills and emotional regulation strategies. At a client's request, she can integrate faith-based perspectives, weaving spiritual and emotional support in ways that respect and honor each person's unique beliefs. Clients describe Janell as warm, approachable, and steady — a presence that fosters trust, safety, and genuine connection.

Outside of her clinical work, Janell enjoys watching dance videos, trying to keep her plants alive outside, finding humor in life's unpredictability, and sharing in a good ol'-fashioned potluck. These everyday joys reflect the same openness, curiosity, and balance she encourages in her clients.
